What Is Tongits?
Tongits is the most popular card game in the Philippines — a rummy-style game for exactly 3 players with unique mechanics like "fights," "burns," and the Tongits declaration. Players draw and discard cards to form melds (sets and runs), aiming to empty their hand or have the lowest unmatched cards when someone calls a draw. The pot-based betting and per-round scoring make it a perfect fit for PartyPot's digital tracking.
How to Play Tongits
Three players: dealer gets 13 cards, others get 12 cards each
Players draw from the deck or pick up the last discard to form melds
Melds: sets of 3-4 same-rank cards, or runs of 3+ same-suit consecutive cards
Lay off cards onto existing melds (yours or opponents')
Declare "Tongits" if you empty your hand — you win immediately
Call "Draw" to end the round — the player with the lowest unmatched cards wins
"Fight" challenges a draw — if you have fewer unmatched points, you win instead
