What Is Big Two?

Big Two (known as Chor Dai Ti or Dai Di in Cantonese, Pusoy Dos in the Philippines, Capsa Banting in Indonesia) is THE card game of Southeast Asia. Four players each receive 13 cards and race to be the first to empty their hand by playing increasingly powerful combinations — singles, pairs, triples, and 5-card poker hands. The 2 of Spades is the highest card (hence "Big Two"). Losers pay per remaining card, with doubled penalties for holding 10+ cards and tripled penalties for holding all 13. PartyPot tracks per-card penalties and running totals across rounds automatically.

How to Play Big Two

1

Deal all 52 cards evenly — each player gets 13 cards

2

The player with the 3 of Diamonds (or lowest card) starts

3

Play combinations: singles, pairs, triples, or 5-card hands (straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush)

4

Each play must beat the previous play in the same combination type

5

Pass if you can't or don't want to beat the current play

6

When all other players pass, the last player leads a new combination

7

First player to empty their hand wins — others pay per remaining card

8

Special penalties: 10+ cards remaining = double, all 13 = triple
