What Is Pok Deng?
Pok Deng is a fast-paced Thai card game that's wildly popular across Southeast Asia. Each player receives 2 cards and aims to get a point total as close to 8 or 9 as possible (called "Pok"). If you get Pok on the initial deal, it's an instant win! Suited pairs and special hands multiply the payout. The speed and simplicity make it perfect for groups, and PartyPot handles the multiplied payouts automatically.
How to Play Pok Deng
The banker deals 2 cards to each player and themselves
Card values: Aces = 1, 2-9 = face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0
Add card values and take the last digit (e.g., 7+5 = 12 → 2)
Pok 8 or Pok 9 on initial deal = instant win (revealed immediately)
If no Pok, players can draw one more card or stand
After all players act, compare hands against the banker
Multipliers: suited pair = 2x, same-rank pair = 2x, three of a kind = 5x
