What Is Baccarat?
Baccarat is one of the simplest casino card games — and one of the most elegant. Players bet on whether the "Player" hand, the "Banker" hand, or a "Tie" will win. Cards are dealt according to fixed rules (no player decisions after the bet), making it purely a game of chance. Player wins pay 1:1, Banker wins pay 0.95:1 (5% commission), and Ties pay 8:1. PartyPot tracks all bets and payouts automatically.
How to Play Baccarat
Players place bets on Player, Banker, or Tie before cards are dealt
Two cards are dealt to the Player position and two to the Banker position
Card values: Aces = 1, 2-9 = face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0
Add card values and take the last digit (e.g., 7+6 = 13 → 3)
Natural win: either hand has 8 or 9 on the first two cards
If no natural, drawing rules determine if a third card is dealt
The hand closest to 9 wins; payouts are settled accordingly
