What Is In Between?

In Between (Acey Deucey) is the perfect party card game — simple enough to learn in 30 seconds, exciting enough to keep everyone at the table for hours. Two cards are dealt, and you bet on whether the next card will fall "in between" them. The wider the spread, the safer the bet — but narrow spreads offer bigger thrills. The entire game revolves around a shared pot, making it ideal for PartyPot's Center Pot feature. Every ante, bet, and "hit the post" penalty is tracked digitally in real-time.

How to Play In Between

1

All players ante into the shared pot

2

Two cards are dealt face up to the active player

3

The player bets any amount up to the pot that the third card will fall between the two

4

If the third card falls between — player wins their bet from the pot

5

If the third card matches either card ("hitting the post") — player pays DOUBLE into the pot

6

If the third card falls outside — player pays their bet into the pot

7

Play continues clockwise; when the pot is empty, everyone antes again

How PartyPot Makes In Between Better

Center Pot tracks the shared pool in real-time — every player sees the pot balance

Antes, wins, and "hit the post" penalties are logged automatically

No more miscounting the pot — the audit log is the single source of truth

Smart Settlement handles end-of-session balances across all players

Perfect for large groups — everyone tracks on their own device

Pro Tips

Set a pot cap to prevent one unlucky "hit the post" from ending the game

The wider the spread, the safer the bet — but consecutive cards (e.g., 7-8) are a guaranteed loss

Equal cards mean an automatic loss — don't bet on pairs

Use PartyPot's Center Pot to handle pot splits if the game runs too long
