What Is Blackjack?

Blackjack is the world's most popular casino card game, and it's equally perfect for home game nights. The premise is simple: get as close to 21 as possible without going over, and beat the dealer. But the strategic depth — knowing when to hit, stand, double down, or split — makes it endlessly engaging. With PartyPot as your digital banker, you can run Blackjack nights at home without physical chips, track insurance bets and side bets seamlessly, and settle up instantly when the night is done.

How to Play Blackjack

1

The dealer gives each player 2 cards face up, and themselves 1 up + 1 down

2

Number cards are face value, face cards are 10, Aces are 1 or 11

3

Players choose: Hit (take another card), Stand (keep current hand), Double Down (double bet, take exactly one more card), or Split (if two same-value cards)

4

If your hand exceeds 21, you "bust" and lose immediately

5

After all players act, the dealer reveals their hole card and must hit until 17+

6

Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card) pays 3:2, regular win pays 1:1

7

Insurance is available when dealer shows an Ace (pays 2:1 if dealer has Blackjack)
