Major Release: Poker Mode Is Here - PartyPot digital banker for game night

It's the feature our poker community has been waiting for: Poker Mode is officially here. Starting today, Party Pot (PartyPot) isn't just a digital banker for card games — it's a purpose-built poker companion with a 2-layer money system, automatic side pots, configurable blinds, and smart settlement.

Whether you're running a weekly Texas Hold'em cash game or hosting a one-off Omaha tournament, Poker Mode handles everything from buy-in to cash-out — without touching a single physical chip.

What's New: Poker Mode v1.0

A 2-layer money system — base wallet for buy-ins, table balance for betting. Automatic side pot splitting when players go all-in. Smart Settlement with minimum-transfer algorithm at cash-out. All synced in real-time, all tracked in the audit log.

The 2-Layer Money System

This is the core innovation of Poker Mode. Instead of a flat balance system, every player now has two separate layers of money:

💰 Layer 1: Base Wallet

Your total balance for the session. When you join a poker room, your money starts here. You buy in from this wallet to sit at the table. When you cash out, your table chips credit back here. At the end of the session, the room owner settles all base wallet balances using Smart Settlement.

♠️ Layer 2: Table Balance

Your chips at the table. This is what you bet with during hands. Bets flow from your table balance into the pot. When you win a hand, the pot credits your table balance. You can top up from your base wallet at any time (between hands), and cash out back to your base wallet when you leave the table.

The Flow:

Base Wallet → Buy In → Table Balance → Bet → Pot → Win → Table Balance → Cash Out → Base Wallet → Settle Room → Minimum Transfers

This clean separation means you always know your total session balance vs. what's actively in play at the table. No more confusion about "how much did I buy in for?" — it's all tracked automatically.

What's Inside Poker Mode

🎰

Small Blind / Big Blind

Fully configurable blind structure. Set small blind and big blind amounts — fixed for cash games, escalating for tournaments with customizable level intervals. Blinds post automatically based on dealer position.

💰

2-Layer Buy-In System

Players buy in from their base wallet to the table. Every buy-in, rebuy, and top-up is logged with timestamps. The room owner sets min/max buy-in amounts. Cash-out from the table credits back to the base wallet automatically.

🃏

Automatic Side Pot Splitting

When a player goes all-in (table balance hits zero), a side pot is automatically created. The all-in player can only win the main pot. Remaining players' additional bets go into the side pot, which they compete for separately. No manual math needed.

🧮

Smart Settlement Algorithm

When the session ends and everyone cashes out, the room owner settles the room. PartyPot's algorithm calculates the absolute minimum number of transfers needed between all players. 5 players might only need 3-4 transfers instead of 10.

📊

Full Audit Log

Every buy-in, rebuy, bet, pot award, side pot split, cash-out, and settlement transfer is timestamped and visible to all players. The log is immutable — nobody can edit or dispute what happened.

⏱️

Tournament Timer & Dealer Rotation

For tournaments: escalating blinds with audio alerts when levels change. Automatic dealer button rotation ensures fair blind posting. Session stats show profit/loss per player, biggest pot, and session duration. Contact us at hello@partypotapp.com for more information.

Why We Built Poker Mode

Since launching PartyPot, poker was our #1 requested game. Our general-purpose digital banker worked fine for tracking poker money, but serious home game players needed more — proper buy-in/cash-out flow, side pot handling, and a settlement system that actually calculates minimum transfers.

We listened. Over the past three months, we've worked closely with home game regulars in Malaysia, Singapore, and beyond to build a Poker Mode that solves real problems at real tables:

"We never know who bought in for how much" — The 2-layer system tracks every buy-in and rebuy automatically.
"Side pots are a nightmare to calculate manually" — Automatic side pot splitting when a player goes all-in.
"Nobody tracks rebuys, so the final numbers never add up" — Every chip that enters the game is logged with timestamps.
"Settling up takes 30 minutes of confused math" — Smart Settlement calculates minimum transfers in seconds.
"We need physical chips AND an app? That's double work" — Poker Mode replaces physical chips entirely with the 2-layer digital system.

How to Use Poker Mode

1

Create a Poker Room

Tap "New Room" and select Poker Mode. Choose Cash Game or Tournament. Set your small blind, big blind, and buy-in range (min/max).

2

Players Buy In

Share the QR code. Players join and buy in from their base wallet to the table. Their table balance appears on screen — this is what they bet with.

3

Play Hands

Blinds post automatically. Bets flow from table balances into the pot. When a player goes all-in, a side pot is created for the remaining players.

4

Cash Out from Table

When a player is done, they cash out — their remaining table balance transfers back to their base wallet. They can also rebuy if they want to continue.

5

Room Owner Settles

Once everyone has cashed out, the room owner triggers settlement. PartyPot's algorithm calculates the minimum number of transfers to clear all debts. Done.

How Side Pots Work

Side pots are one of the most confusing parts of home poker — and the #1 reason arguments start at the table. Here's how Poker Mode handles them automatically:

1.

Player A goes all-in — their table balance hits zero. A main pot is locked containing everyone's matched bets up to Player A's all-in amount.

2.

Side pot created — any additional bets from the remaining players (B, C, D...) go into a separate side pot. Player A cannot win this pot.

3.

Showdown — if Player A has the best hand, they win the main pot. The side pot goes to the best hand among the remaining players. If another player beats A, they win both pots.

4.

Multiple side pots — if multiple players go all-in at different amounts, multiple side pots are created automatically. Each is tracked separately in the audit log.
